Designed to be easy to understand, easy to use.

This project has been funded by the Ministry of Education. The TVDSB Toolkit is the first phase of the project. The next phase involves broadening the toolkit to include approaches from all systems. We invite contributions and feedback from the field.
This toolkit contains all the information you will need to lead a program for your school to develop a safe, inclusive and accepting environment for all learners, based on 12 years of experience and education in practice since the Safe Schools Act came into effect across Ontario. View it on the site, or download a PDF copy of the toolkit to print and use wherever and whenever you need it. Check out the bonus video footage in each chapter.

Where did it come from?

Based on the approaches, experience and knowledge of the Thames Valley District School Board and its community partners, this toolkit has been made possible with additional support from the Ontario Institute for Educational Leadership (IEL) and the Ontario Ministry of Education.
