Leadership Development
During 2006/07, the Institute held two leadership development events,titled "Multiple Perspectives" and "Collaboration in Strategic Leadership." The first of these, held in May 2006 for 12 boards, engaged board teams in reflective and planning work in the areas of adaptive leadership and building sustainability. This event was followed in December by a professional development event featuring the provincial launch of the institute's Leadership Self-Review Tool. Event speakers and session leaders included acknowledged leadership experts such as Ron Heifetz, Ken Leithwood, Andy Hargreaves, and Dean Fink.

Communiqués 2007/2008
In addition to developing its mission, goals, and governance framework, the Institute for Education Leadership launched a number of key initiatives during 2006/07. In 2007/08, a more extensive range of projects and programs is planned, with a focus on leadership development, research, and communication.

Ontario Education Research Symposium 2008
Together with Ken Leithwood, members of the Institute for Education Leadership presented Putting Research into Practice to Develop a Leadership Framework for School and System Leaders in Ontario at the Ontario Education Research Symposium in February 2008.
The Harvard Experiment
This series of articles was written by members of the Institute of Education Leadership Steering Committee following their return from an intense executive leadership course at Harvard University in May 2008.
